Okanagan Skaha School District is seeking outstanding educational leaders for anticipated vacancies for the positions of Principal and Vice Principal, Schools effective August 1, 2024.

Applicants are asked to indicate if they are applying for a Principalship or Vice Principalship.

In addition to possessing, or being eligible for, membership in the B.C. College of Teachers and possessing an appropriate masters degree, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, knowledge, and qualities: Broad knowledge of issues and trends in BC public education;

Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, truth and reconciliation.

Strong, value-based practice supporting individual student success;

Excellent initiative, organizational, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills;

A refined ability to work with all partner groups on a collaborative and motivating basis;

Commitment to fostering excellence in instructional, co-curricular, and extra- curricular programs in the school;

The ability to promote good labour relations and sound personnel management in a dynamic educational and union environment;

A high level of energy and an ability to sustain a heavy and varied workload;

Commitment to becoming an integral participant in school and district initiatives;

Demonstrated, exemplary teaching experience;

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with Indigenous ancestry.

Salary Range: Principals: $144,481 - $160,839

Vice Principals: $126,738 $141,086 The School District:

School District No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha), representing the communities of Penticton, Summerland, Kaleden, and Naramata, serves the educational needs of approximately 5,700 students through elementary (K-5), middle (Gr. 6-8) and secondary (Gr. 9-12) schools.
