Qualified Tradesperson Painter (Temporary Position)

School District 67 Okanagan Skaha invites applicants for the position of a Temporary QT-Painter . This position works 40 hours per week. Initial hours of work are 7:00 am until 3:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak. Successful candidates are subject to the terms of the Criminal Review Act.

The rate of pay for this position is $36.64 per hour (as per the collective agreement).

Position start date and end date: May 13, 2024 October 28, 2024

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications: Certification as a journeyman as set out in the B.C. Industry Training Authority Act for Painter or equivalent Inter-Provincial Technical Qualifications

valid BC Drivers License

working knowledge of other trades connected with building, finishing and maintenance

good working knowledge of the British Columbia and National Building Codes

demonstrated ability to take direction and carry out assigned duties independently

completion of grade 12

valid Class 5 BC Drivers License

safe driving record (current drivers abstract required)

working knowledge of the operation and service of equipment used

demonstrated ability to work alone and work as part of a team with other District employees

demonstrated ability to read, write and follow directions

demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff and others

demonstrated ability to deal with staff, students and others

physical ability to perform all aspects of the job
