Qualified Tradesperson Plumber / HVAC Technician (Temporary Position)

A challenging opportunity exists with S.D. No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha) in a position as a Temporary QT Plumber / HVAC Technician. This position works 40 hours per week. Initial hours of work are 7:00 am until 3:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunchbreak. Successful candidates are subject to the terms of the Criminal Review Act.

The rate of pay for this position is $36.64 per hour (as per the collective agreement).

Position start date and end date: May 13, 2024 October 28, 2024

The successful candidate should possess: Completion of grade 12 or equivalent

Trades Qualification (TQ) Certificate and plumbing with Gasfitters Certificate (Class B) plus four years related work experience after completion of TQ

Knowledge of direct digital control (DDC)

Working knowledge of other related maintenance trades connected with physical plant servicing

Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job

Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License

Safe driving record (current drivers abstract required)

Working knowledge of the operation and service of equipment used

Demonstrated ability to work alone and work as part of a team with other District Employees

Demonstrated ability to take direction and carry out assigned duties independently

Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow directions

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff and others
