Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Consultant (K-12)

FTE = 1.0 (Term Position) This is a 3-year term position: Effective Immediately- August 31, 2027 Responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Principal of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, this position will be responsible for supporting the development of the systems capacity to implement equity, diversity and inclusion programming, identity-based data collection, and other existing and emergent legislation by:

acting as a resource to the system regarding related legislation, education, protocols and communications and participating on internal and external committees as appropriate;

facilitating programs, projects and activities, such as the identification and delivery of training needs, development and implementation of strategies for engagement, and ongoing evaluation of programs;

co-ordinate the collection of identity-based data relating to student achievement and workforce diversity;

utilizing excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ethic of teamwork;

preparing various reports, correspondence, compliance records, database files and special reports as requested for the various functions of the Board including Board and Committee meetings and government ministries;

performing other duties related to equity, diversity, accessibility and human rights;

providing advice and support to employees to ensure awareness of the Board's obligations with respect to equity and diversity, human rights, and accessibility; engage in co-planning, co-teaching and co-debriefing cycle of professional learning;

support principles of equity and inclusionary practice in providing programming for all learners;

serve on the boards Equity and Inclusive Education Committee; and

other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: an Ontario teaching certificate and appropriate basic teacher qualifications;

broad knowledge base in program planning, implementation and assessment;

evidence of commitment to inclusionary practices;

demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of equity and human rights issues;

previous experience in a system-based role would be an asset;

experience with collaborative adult learning models, School Improvement Planning (SIP) and the School Effectiveness Framework (SEF);

demonstrated leadership experience;

strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills;

effective organization and time management skills;

a valid driver's license and use of a vehicle.PLEASE NOTE: Hours of work are 8:30am to 4:30pm. Work outside of these hours may be required occasionally to meet program requirements and commitments.

Due to the nature of the role, preparation time is embedded into the regular roles and responsibilities of the position (e.g., preparing resources/professional learning, planning with colleagues, etc.).
