We are seeking a Temporary Full-Time general junior high teacher with knowledge of numeracy and literacy intervention, knowledge of all subject areas and experience working with students below grade level is preferred. The contract will commence as soon as a suitable candidate is found and will end on June 26, 2025.
We are seeking a teacher who has; Appropriate educational training and experience teaching the Alberta curricula;
A strong understanding of outcomes based assessment practices;
Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team;
A commitment to building relationships with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming learning environment;
A strong belief in parent involvement and communication including regular communication with home beyond the use report cards;
Strong organizational and classroom management skills;
An in depth knowledge of and experience with current outcomes based assessment practices and ability to develop multiple assessments such as portfolios and projects, in addition to more traditional assessments;
A passion for working with an ethnically diverse group of students, including First Nations Metis and Inuit students;
An ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioural, emotional and/or curricular needs within the classroom setting;
Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for same;Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
