Coordinator - Education Services for Wolf Creek Public Schools
Duties to commence August 28th, 2024 Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) invites applications from experienced, dynamic, and progressive leaders for the position of Coordinator - Education Services. As a member of the Education Services team, the Coordinator is responsible for a variety of key portfolio areas that support the divisions overall priority areas of Quality Teaching, Supporting All Students, and Collective Responsibility.
Wolf Creek Public Schools serves approximately 7,500 students in 30 schools across the division with a workforce of approximately 900.
About the Position
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Education Services team in the following areas: Leadership and support for five Colony Schools, including:
PD Planning and facilitations, staff cohort leadership
Assessment support
Staff mentorship
Administrative leadership for colony schools, including annual calendar, staff absences, and school budgeting PUF Program Leadership
Student identification, assessment, and program development
PUF Audit oversight, management
PUF EA and resource allocations
Coordination of specialized services for our Bright Futures Play Academy and students receiving PUF support Instructional Leadership and program support in the area of Early Learning (Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten) and the Wolf Creek Bright Futures Play Academy programs.
Leadership for French Immersion Programming Support, including:
Staff professional learning and Teacher support
Divisional coordination of resource orders
Implementation of new curriculum
Divisional Lead for the Official Languages in Education Program (OLEP) The above list represents the current assignment for this coordinator position. As needs, resources, and expertise evolve, our coordinator positions may change to reflect new divisional priorities or areas of need. Additionally, position responsibilities could be adjusted to align with expertise and leadership experiences of the successful candidate. As such, we encourage candidates with strong school or divisional leadership experience in any of these areas to apply, recognizing that versatility and adaptability are key assets in our organization.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have an exemplary background as a student-centered educator, including the following qualifications: Demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching with at least 5 years of experience
Strong work ethic and highly skilled in building positive working relationships
Solution-focused educator with experience and/or training in supporting complex student programming and students with challenging behaviours
Completion of or working toward a Masters Degree would be an asset
Certification and/or trainer designation with Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) approaches, and protocols would be an asset
Evidence of experience and/or application of supporting the Application of Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Mtis and Inuit
Commitment to career-long professional learning and reflective practice
Evidence of collaborative approach to problem-solvingThe successful candidate must hold or qualify for an Alberta teaching certificate.
