Under the direction of the Supervisor of Operations, the Supervisor of Transportation is responsible for the

management of 20 bus routes and all transportation operations in the division as they pertain to students

transported, school bus drivers, and the condition of the bus fleet. The Supervisor of Transportation is

responsible for the hiring, evaluation, training, orientation, and the assignment of CUPE bus drivers. Finally,

it is expected that all bus routes will be designed in a coordinated manner to ensure efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of Bus Drivers

* Communicate with parents, school principals and other interested parties regarding school related transportation

services

* Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve performance

* Ensure compliance with applicable policies, administrative guidelines, Acts and Regulations

* Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and division policies

* Monitor routes to ensure schedules are met and to resolve operation problems

The ideal candidate will bring:

* Demonstrated experience in transportation and/or fleet management

* Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience managing a group of employees

* Ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships, problem solve, and to communicate effectively

* Ability to maintain a Valid Class 2 Provincial Driver License and School Bus Certificate

* Working knowledge of computers and software applications
