Coast Tsimshian Academy is seeking the services of a

Full-time (1.0) Teacher capable of teaching Grades 8 12

English in a team teaching environment.

This position will conform to the Prov. of British Columbia curriculum guidelines.

All subjects shall be integrated with Tsimshian First Nations History and Culture where appropriate. The successful candidate will begin teaching immediately. Preference will be given to candidates with the following characteristics: Possession of (or eligibility for) B.C. Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate

Successful teaching experience in a First Nations community

Ability to meet the challenges of classroom management and differentiated curriculum delivery at the senior level and successfully address student challenges in emotional and social areas

Familiarity with computer technology and the use of Smartboards in the delivery of curriculum

Ability to cultivate regular, meaningful dialogue between school and home to support parental engagement in the learning process of students

Willingness to participate in extra-curricular programs to engage students beyond the academic arena
