ASSIGNMENT: ADST (Gr 8-9). This position has a grade 8/9 ADST computer studies (computational thinking, robotics and/or media arts) focus. There will be opportunities to work collaboratively within the POD structure, which includes one block in one term of POD support. There is also a student support block as part of this assignment.

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2024 and continuing
Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
Training Specialization: Secondary Education with a major in Computer Studies Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the junior school level
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
Additional Qualifications: Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level in Computer studies
Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level in Robotics/Media arts Other: Commitment to the house-based team structure
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61.175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
