Job Summary:

The Career Pathways Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing career education throughout the division including skill trades, apprenticeships, vocational education, dual credit, and work-integrated learning programs. This position will provide leadership in building curricular connections and authentic learning experiences, garnering the support of parents in guiding students along an informed career pathway that ensures their academic and skilled readiness. The Coordinator will work closely with students, faculty, and industry partners to provide comprehensive career guidance, support, and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management:

Design and implement career pathways programs that meet the needs of students and align with current industry trends.

Develop partnerships with local businesses, industries, and post-secondary institutions to enhance program offerings.

Ensure compliance with Provincial regulations related to career and technical education.

Student Support:

Provide individual and group career counseling and guidance to students.

Assist students in developing personalized career plans and setting achievable career goals.

Organize and facilitate workshops, job fairs, and other career-related events.

Collaboration and Outreach:

Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate career education into the curriculum.

Coordinate internships, job shadowing, and apprenticeship opportunities for students.

Serve as a liaison between the school division and community partners, including businesses, industries, and higher education institutions.

Data Management and Reporting:

Collect and analyze data related to student participation and outcomes in career pathways programs.

Prepare and present reports to school administration, school board, and other stakeholders.

Use data to continuously improve program effectiveness and student success.

Professional Development:

Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in career and technical education.

Attend professional development opportunities and conferences.

Provide training and support to teachers and staff on career pathways programs and resources.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Education, Counseling, Career and Technical Education, or a related field

Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, counseling, or career services.

Strong knowledge of career and technical education programs and industry standards.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, parents, educators, and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in developing and managing career pathways or Dual Credit programs.
