Revelstoke Board of Education JOB POSTING: R 24-25-02 [posted Tuesday, May 28th, 2024]Position: Secondary School Counsellor FTE: 1.0 Location: Revelstoke Secondary School Status: Continuing Effective Date(s): August 28 th , 2024 We are currently seeking a continuing full-time counsellor. School counsellors: offer academic guidance, career information, and personal counselling collaborate and consult with other counsellors, teachers, parents/caregivers, administrators, and outside agencies assist in coordination of services as a member of the School Based Team provide SEL programs in classroom settings (PreVenture, Mental Health Literacy) are comfortable working with an online administrative software (MyEdBC) to schedule students, assist in building and balancing timetables, and tracking graduation status A teaching block may be embedded in the schedule Qualifications: A valid Professional British Columbia teaching certificate. A Masters Degree in school counselling, psychology or an equivalent. Knowledge of current best practices in education especially in the counselling field. Five years successful classroom teaching experience at the secondary level. Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Thorough knowledge of programs and services for families in the district and community.
