Summer Student - Data Indexing - Information Technology Services

The Avon Maitland District School Board is inviting applications for one (1) Summer Student position to support the Student Services, IT & Data Department.

Reporting to the AMDSB Research Manager, to support the Student Services, IT & Data department with the development of a data warehouse. It is expected that the summer student would be available to begin work by Tuesday May 21, 2024 to Friday August 16, 2024. (Start date is negotiable). This position will be predominantly remote work, with an expectation to meet with supervisors as needed.Qualifications:

1. Registered to return to full time post secondary schooling in the Fall;

2. Completed at minimum, 1 year of post secondary education in a software engineering/computer science program, (or related field of study);

3. Demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively as part of a team;

4. Familiarity with the use of technology to manage large volumes of digital records, would be considered an asset;

5. Enhanced understanding of statistics, including data collection (qualitative and quantitative), extraction and modelling;

6. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks;

7. Understanding and commitment to confidentiality, and data privacy expectations.Rate of Pay: $18.37 to $22.57 per hour as per Level 1 in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for the Non-Union, Management and Administrative and Supervisory Employees. This rate of pay is subject to change pending the implementation of the updated grids due to Bill 124 remedy payments.

Hours of Work : Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
