EIPS is recruiting a full-time Connections Teacher at Woodbridge Farms Elementary.

Woodbridge Farms Elementary serves approximately 315 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 18 teaching staff and 21 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

Woodbridge Farms Elementary aims to inspire both students and staff to create a learning community of support, engagement and respect. Commencing August 27, 2024

Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position The Connections Program is a specialized system program designed for students in grades 1-6 whove been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD can result in difficulties in communication, social relationships, behaviour, learning or any combination thereof. The programs designed for students who require flexible instruction thats responsive to fluctuations in levels of engagement or regulation throughout the school day in a classroom environment that takes into consideration individual sensory needs.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
