Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Junior High Teacher at Sherwood Heights Junior High. Teaching subjects include: Junior High French Immersion Language Arts, French Immersion Science as well as Junior High Physical Education, Leadership and Athletic Director.

Sherwood Heights Junior High serves approximately 630 students in grades 7 to 9, with 27 teaching staff and 10 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

Sherwood Heights Junior High offers a safe and secure environment for students to meet their educational needs with dual-track English and French Immersion programming, as well as the Logos Christian program. The school offers several interesting extracurricular and noon-hour activities. Commencing August 27, 2024 to June 26, 2025

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
