Continuing Education School Instructor

Casual Position Sioux North High School

Position is dependent upon enrollment

Rate of Pay - $46.03 per hour The course will be credit-bearing, Healthy Living and Large Group Activities, for Indigenous Youth attending Sioux North High School from Independent First Nation Alliance communities. Effective start date/end date and working arrangements to be determined by the school principal.

The following qualifications are required:

1. A member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers with qualifications in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions.

2. An understanding and appreciation of the cultural heritage and values of Anishinaabe people.

3. A full understanding of the Ontario Curriculum Guidelines for Secondary Schools.

4. Be sensitive to the needs of individual students, especially students living away from home to attend secondary school.

5. Participate in community activities to develop a better rapport and understanding of the students.

6. Maintain a liaison with Program, School and Community Leaders.

7. Fluency in Anishinaabe language is an asset, preferred.

8. Valid driver's license and own transportation.
