The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. The Board serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala, as well as serving the educational needs of many neighbouring and far north First Nation communities. POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Special Education, the Autism and Positive Behaviour Leader is responsible for supporting school teams in the implementation of Applied Behavioural Analysis and behaviour intervention strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and students requiring Tier 3 behaviour interventions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Observes students and current practices of schools to inform Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) instructional methods. May include data collection, skills assessment, and administering functional assessment questionnaires. Works directly with students to model and implement intervention strategies.

Supports the implementation of functional behaviour assessments, interventions, and transition plans to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Tier 3 behaviours.

Analyses behaviour data and other relevant information in the development of individualized intervention strategies.

Writes reports on individualized strategies to support school teams in the implementation of interventions.

Models and implements intervention strategies and supports all staff using the gradual release of responsibility model.

Provides formal and informal training on classroom strategies to school teams on individualized student plans, positive behaviour support and general ABA strategies to enhance the level of understanding of ABA and the services available to students.

Keeps up-to-date with the latest research articles and clinical reports to support the continuous improvement of interventions and strategies implemented at the Board.

Advocates for and supports an equitable and inclusive school climate for all students to support their learning and development.

Sioux Lookout and travel across the region is requiredQUALIFICATIONS College diploma from a recognized institution is required. University degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Therapy from a recognized institution is preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of experience, including experience in a School Board environment is preferred.

Certification in Applied Behaviour Analysis preferred.

Knowledge of Regulated Health Professionals Act (RHPA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), and other relevant legislation. Other Qualifications
