Phoenix Magnet Academy is a BC Group-4 Grades 8-12 international boarding school in Squamish, BC, Canada. We are looking to expand by adding Grade 12, and also adding some adult language programs, over the next year.

For Grades 11 and 12 we seek a Biology &/or English teacher, able to teach p/t and, reporting directly to the Head of School, to take on supervisory roles as Deputy Head of School.

The individual must be experienced, student centered, detail oriented, flexible and compassionate. Thorough knowledge of subject matter (Biology/English), BC Curriculum and Grad Program, classroom and resource management, and boarding school lifestyle is required.

Understanding of Experiential Learning and appreciation of outdoor education is desirable. Willingness to travel with students, willingness to supervise dormitory staff and students, ability to adapt and adjust with humility and humor - are all required.

Our teachers work as a team with the Head(s) of School and experiential learning staff: planning classes and activities such that academic learning and related learning experiences outside the classroom are mindfully and artfully chosen and integrated - to enhance student learning, confidence and growth.
