DISTRICT SYSTEM ANALYST 1 CUPE

Competition No. 5840 Location: Squamish

Area Effective: August 1, 2024 Hours: 8.0 hours per day, 12 months per year Rate of Pay: $38.05/hour Our Information, Communications and Technology

(ICT) Department, based in Squamish, BC, provides remote and on-site ICT

service and support to over 16 physical School District Sites across the Sea to

Sky Region, encompassing Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton and DArcy. We are seeking 1 full time System Analyst 1 to join the team.Duties & Responsibilities: Under the direction of the ICT Manager, and working

with a team of IT professionals, the Systems Analyst 1 leads the hands-on

technical administration for District-wide IT resources while protecting the

integrity and confidentiality of District Information. Holds a key role in the design,

implementation and support of IT infrastructure and operations in a mixed, primarily

Microsoft/AD environment, on and off-premise.

Areas include: servers, networking, firewalls, Wi-Fi, security policies,

cloud (SaaS) services, multi-platform device management. Helps guide activities of department

employees, acting as a resource and mentor, assisting the team in maintaining

and recommending constantly improving standards, solutions and procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum two year

post-secondary technical diploma; Microsoft Certified Professional MCP certification

Advanced technical

competence in the relevant areas with at least 4 years related experience in an

enterprise environment

Demonstrated experience and

success supervising others or acting as a work leader and strong interpersonal/relationship

building skills

Demonstrated success

executing responsibilities with limited supervision and taking initiative to

address problem situations and resolve conflicts

Demonstrably strong

documentation skills and practices of procedures and configurations, technical

workflows, project planning and reports

Demonstrated experience designing and

teaching technical workshops

The ability and desire to

maintain currency in their profession.

Industry certifications will be considered assets: e.g. MCSE, ITIL,

PMP/CAPM, A+, etc.

Available for emergency call-in maintenance

duties outside of scheduled hours as required

Valid BC Drivers License:

travel throughout the District will be required, travel reimbursement provided

as per Board policy

Physically capable of performing the

duties of the position.
