St. Albert Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time, Probationary High School Teacher to join the Building Futures Program for the 2024/25 school year.

St. Albert Public Schools is proud to partner with local builder, Encore Master Builders, to offer the Building Futures program to a select group of graduating Grade 9 students who will build a house from the ground up. The classroom location will be on the build site located in the Riverside community in St. Albert. Building Futures, started by Coventry Homes in 2019, provides and immersive and unique 1 year program for grade 10 students. The partnership with SAPS and Encore Master Builders will be modelled after existing Coventry Homes partnerships. For more information, please visit:

This assignment may include other subjects depending on school needs and qualifications of the successful applicant.

Qualifications and Attributes: A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Knowledge of Trades and Apprenticeship programs

Good oral and written communication skills

Good interpersonal skills

The ability to take direction and work independently

Flexibility, patience, sensitivity, tolerance, enthusiasm, creativity and imagination

Journeyman certificate would be an asset

Construction experience and knowledge would be an asset

Experience teaching High School students would be an asset
