Religious Education Consultant

Duties to commence: August 23, 2024 until June 27, 2025 with possibility of extensionEducation: Possess a Bachelor of Education and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Graduate studies or related coursework is considered an asset

Committed to achieving Division outcomes for students, staff and families.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a desire to serve others

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to present information and engage staff in professional learning activities

Diverse experience and expertise in religious education, curriculum, instruction and assessment

Ability to integrate technology to enhance and support student learning

Work with the Superintendent to support the Divisions faith goal(s)

Work with the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services to support religious education programming

Collaborate with diocesan, parish, and school leaders; lead bi-monthly parish partnership meetings between parish priests and school principals

Engage Division and school-based leaders (CCLC, school faith lead teachers) to build personal and collective professional capacities with regard to faith and religious education

Lead monthly faith formation for Division leaders (CCLC)

Guide implementation of the K-12 religious education and Christian family life programming

Represent the Division within the Diocesan network of (CAEREC) and provincial Religious Education Network (REN).

Support Division efforts addressing social justice; liaise with Catholic Social Services and other Catholic non-profit agencies

Assist school-based leaders in planning and celebrating liturgical activities (masses, liturgies, retreats, prayers, etc.)

Support school-based student groups (faith groups, Life Framework groups)

Support staff development in achieving Division priorities in the Three-Year Assurance Plan

Plan and organize annual faith retreats for CCLC and Division Services Centre

Plan and organize Blueprints Day (annual staff faith formation day) and support planning of the Division Faith and Wellness Day

Engage in continuous professional learning, and faith development opportunities

Collaborate and work with the Division Chaplain to support student faith development

Communicate and celebrate the good news of how faith is animated within the Division (Telling Our Story, GrACE)
