The Information Technology Services Dept. requires an innovative/energetic professional to work within the Boards continuously evolving, multi-tiered computing environment. The applicant needs to be able to work independently, and in a team environment.
The functions of this position could include (but are not limited to): Maintenance & administration of Microsoft Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, Cluster Service, Certificate Services etc
Configuring and maintaining enterprise class server hardware and storage related technologies from major vendors such as HP, Dell, IBM.
Use system management tools such as FortiManage SDWAN firewalls, Microsoft Azure Portal, Microsoft Operations Manager, Microsoft Configuration Manager
Configuration of identity management, multi-factor authentication and SSO
Configuring and administering enterprise backup and recovery solutions for the server environment. Maintaining disaster recovery site plan for data replication and recovery in disaster scenarios.
Monitor for vulnerabilities and apply patches, security updates and upgrades to Server and Datacenter systems as required.
Automating tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools
Managing and configuring Azure Cloud, Microsoft Entra ID, Office 365, SharePoint, Google Workspace.
Managing virtualization technology, in cloud and on premises, as well as physical servers
Administering and patching Linux OS
Collaborate and liaise with schools and other departments on solutions to technical issues and support.
Create knowledge base articles / documentation for technical resources in Helpdesk systems and processes.
Other duties assignedSkills, Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum 3-year college diploma/university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years server/email/security experience, in an enterprise environment is preferred
Experience working in a K-12 educational or related environment, supporting staff and students is an asset
Demonstrated experience in enterprise operating systems, client operating systems, database servers, web servers, hardware/software and enterprise platforms & integration such as Microsoft, Google, iOS and Android. Online learning and cloud-based collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams is an asset
Demonstrated experience with enterprise level security design & implementation of servers, Fortinet firewalls, IPS, NAC solutions
Knowledge and experience in information security practices in enterprise IT administration, specific to technology domains such as servers, datacenter, networks, etc. Certified/demonstrated ability in operational best practices following standards from organizations such as ISC2, ISACA, CCCS or NIST for information security.
Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, VLAN segmentation and Wi-Fi networking technologies
Knowledgeable in IT service management concepts related to incident, problem, change, configuration, capacity and service level management using industry established standards such as ITIL/ITSM (certifications)
Understanding and experience working in large scale projects
Proficiency in ticketing/Helpdesk Software - TOPdesk is preferred
Excellent organizational, written, oral communication and presentation skills
Proven capacity in working both independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environments is essential
As this position is responsible for maintaining system critical applications, systems and networks, confidentiality is a mandatory requirement
Professionalism and client-focused service, effective communication and organizational skills are essential to this position
