School Teacher will carry out the Boards elearning strategy by using
technology to provide both differentiated and direct instruction. The
teacher will provide on-line instruction and be available to students
online for a minimum of 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The hours
that teachers are available must be communicated with students online.
He or she is responsible for the preparation of class material and
assignments, marking, and parental contact.
Summer eLearning Teachers will participate in an online summer school meeting with the Principal of Summer School in June, date to be determined. Teachers will facilitate a synchronous online Orientation Workshop on the first day of the eLearning July 2, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Teachers may apply for more than one posting, as classes may be cancelled due to enrollment. Bachelor of Education and a member in good standing of the Ontario College of
Teachers
Intermediate/Senior Basic Qualifications
FSL
Qualification with respect to specialized subjects will be required as per Ministry
regulations and Article 11.02 7(b)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience as an eLearning Teacher
Prior experience using the PRISM
Prior experience using the vLE (Virtual Learning Environment) REQUIREMENTS
Strong knowledge of elearning and the pedagogy related to online learning
Strong knowledge of teaching in subject areas
Broad knowledge of child development and teaching methods
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English
Ability to communicate and relate with people tactfully, diplomatically, and
professionally at all times
Excellent organizational skills
Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to attend work on a regular basis
Demonstrated proficiency using the vLE, PRISM, Zoom, Skype for Business, email, and different operating systems such as IOS and Windows based platformsDEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: May 1, 2024 @ 9:00 A.M. Salary is $45.98 per hour. Hours of work: Minimum of 15 hours per week, and a maximum of 27.5 hours
per week as determined by workload, total hours not to exceed 110 hours
