ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

Qualifications in Senior English and Business

Priest Reference and Faith Reference Portfolio (see Catholic Teacher Application)

Experience with the e-Learning platform.Brightspace.D2L

Knowledge of current Ministry initiatives

Excellent English language communication skills, both oral and written

Sound knowledge of evidence-based assessment practices

A commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner

Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support effective instruction and engage students

An ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic Education and integrating the Catholic School Graduate Expectations within the curriculum

Flexibility to be assigned in other subject/grades as the need arises

A willingness to participate in the schools ongoing literacy and numeracy initiatives

Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to provide regular attendanceADDITIONAL INFORMATION Prioritize support for independent adult online learners while maintaining a balanced approach to serving students in both the traditional classroom and virtual environments, recognizing the majority of students' preference for online, self-paced learning.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of adult students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Implement effective online teaching practices to effectively engage and support students in the virtual classroom setting, leveraging educational technology and digital resources.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to students as they progress through their courses, offering personalized assistance and feedback to promote learning success.

Foster a culture of motivation and self-directed learning, empowering students to take ownership of their educational journey and achieve their academic goals.

Maintain accurate records of student progress, ensuring timely communication with students regarding their performance and course requirements.

Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to enhance the overall effectiveness and quality of the adult education program, contributing to curriculum development and program improvement initiatives.Please Note: Continuing Education Teachers work 5 hours daily and are paid $45.98 hourly, plus vacation pay as per employment standards, which is deemed inclusive of any and all entitlements.
