Khalsa Secondary School is a faith based school in Surrey, BC. We are a school of 600+ students. Due to growth, we are looking to immediately hire 4 positions for Semester 2 which starts on January 30, 2024

Position 1 - Foods and Career Teacher -Food Studies 11, Food Studies 12, Career Education 9

Position 2 -Humanities Teacher - Humanities 8 and Humanities 9

Position 3 - Math & Career Teacher - Foundations of Math and Pre-Cal 10, Foundations of Mathematics 12, and Career Education 8

Position 4 - Elective, PE & Math Teacher: Media Arts 8, Life Skills 8, PE 9, Math 8

The position will be required to: Prepare lesson plans and report on learning outcomes at the end of the day in the form of notes for the teacher.

Hold students' accountable in an engaging manner

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth

Collaborate with colleagues and administration to develop and implement curriculum plans

Maintain accurate records of student attendance, daily performance and raise any concerns to administration

Strong classroom management skills are requiredRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field or a Bachelor's degree

Valid teaching certification or license preferred

Experience working with high school students, preferably in a classroom setting

Knowledge and understanding of the subject area(s) being taught

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment

Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needsNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
