Khalsa Schools of BC campuses are seeking multiple candidates for their Sikh Music Teacher positions to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for music, are able to teach keertan, tabla and tanti saaj and have a desire to educate and inspire students through engaging music lessons.

We are hiring at our Khalsa School Newton Elementary, Khalsa School Old Yale Road Elementary, Khalsa School of the Fraser Valley and Khalsa Secondary School locations.

Positions available are:

-18 Keertan Teachers for Kindergarten to Grade 8

-11 Tabla Teachers for Kindergarten to Grade 8

-2 Sikh Music Teachers for Grade 8 - 12

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement music lesson plans that align with curriculum standards

- Instruct students on music theory, history, and performance techniques

- Create a positive and supportive learning environment for students of all ages

- Conduct individual and group music lessons

- Organize and oversee music performances and recitals

- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their musical growth

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Sikh Music (Keertan / Tabla) Education or related field

- Previous experience teaching music, tutoring, or working with children

- Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments (stringed and harmonium)

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to engage and motivate students through creative teaching methods

Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Experience in classroom teaching or educational settings
