The Manager, Leasing and Property Management Services, reports to the Director, Advancement, and is responsible for managing a mixed portfolio of residential rentals, commercial leased properties, and rental agreements, including childcare operator licenses. This includes identifying new lease spaces, overseeing existing spaces, and ensuring legal, risk and financial adherence of all leases and rental licenses to established district and industry policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Draft policies and procedures as well as identify efficiencies and operational improvements in leasing and childcare activities.

Recognize district needs and identify appropriate new lease spaces, renewing, terminating, drafting, and editing lease and license documents.

Manage a mixed portfolio of residential rentals and commercial leased properties. Oversee rental agreements and childcare operator licenses. Ensure compliance with legal, risk, and financial policies and procedures.

Collaborate with finance, risk, education, and rentals departments to manage expenses and revenues, process invoices and payments and track budgets. Review contracts, and submit reports to auditors, internal departments and board as required.

Liaise with internal teams and external vendors, including maintenance, property and real estate management, landlords, tenants, and legal advisors, to gather expert advice and recommendations on potential new spaces, negotiation strategies, and landlord communication regarding leased spaces.

Create and track budgets and report on annual spend and any changes in budget to internal partners.

Apply for childcare capital funding for new child care spaces and oversee project completion, including coordinating purchases, renovations, and equipment needs with child care operators.

Secure Fraser Health childcare licensing, monitor space usage for childcare, and facilitate relocations of childcare programs in response to changing school space requirements.Qualifications:

Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in real estate, Business Administration, or related field, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in leasing commercial real estate and/or property management, or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training and experience.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and build trust with a variety of partners.

Demonstrated ability to work with others in a consultative and collaborative manner.

Effective critical thinking, decision making, and problem resolution skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of qualifications and ability to meet the key requirements of the job, and consideration of internal equity comparisons. The midpoint of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position.
