1.0 FTE TEMPORARY FAMILY CONNECTIONS WORKER Lomond and Vauxhall

Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm. One full Friday a month, every other Friday 8am-1pm

The Family Connections Program is designed to provide an integrated service approach to meet the mental, social, physical, and emotional needs of the students and their families. Duties and responsibilities of the position include: Liaise with other resources/agencies and make necessary referrals

Work directly with families in developing and implementing a family action plan

Development and implementation of group programs

Work closely with schools and related agencies as part of networking efforts for service delivery

Coordinate Family Connection volunteers

Classroom presentations around preventative mental health

Summer programmingThe preferred candidates qualifications include:

-A university degree or two-year diploma in a related field and experience working with groups and individuals.

-At least 2 years working experience in addiction and mental health or health/human services related role (experience as a practicum student considered).

-Knowledge of addiction and mental health is required.

-Working knowledge of community agencies and supports.

-Strong interpersonal skills.

-Experience in working with all age groups.

-Knowledge and understanding of the Low German Mennonite culture and language would be an asset.

-All professions must provide proof of licensure or registration with the approved Alberta regulatory college, prior to commencing duties where applicable.

This position will commence as soon as a suitable candidate has been found.
