St. Mary's School in Vancouver is seeking a full-time bookkeeper/office support staff member for the 2024-25 school year. We are hoping to have some transition days mid June - July 5.Position Overview:

As our Full-time Bookkeeper and Office Support Staff member, you'll play a vital role in managing the financial operations and providing administrative support for our organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to balance your skills in bookkeeping with office support duties, contributing to the efficient functioning of our school community.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities Include (0.6 FTE):

Managing accounts payable and receivable with precision

Conducting full general ledger accounting to ensure financial accuracy

Administering payroll and maintaining meticulous financial records

Generating monthly financial reports for the Education Committee

Performing monthly bank reconciliations and overseeing cash flow administration

Providing support for year-end accounting and audit preparation

Implementing financial control measures to maintain compliance and accuracy

Releasing monthly tuition payments through BMO

Generating invoices for the school and after-school club

Producing T4s, yearly tuition receipts, and tax receipts

Serving as a liaison for staff benefits and pensions

Collaborating with the Parent Education Committee (PEC) on fundraising initiatives

Providing monthly reports to the PEC to track progress and outcomes

Assisting in the preparation of preliminary and final budgets

Calculating the yearly "magic number" for tax receipts

Facilitating weekly bank deposits

Office Support Responsibilities Include (0.4 FTE):

Performing clerical duties of more than average complexity

Collaborating with the office administrator and school principal to determine specific duties

Managing purchases, receiving, storing, and distributing school and office supplies

Regularly interacting with students, parents, teaching staff, parish staff, and the general public

Utilizing thorough knowledge and experience of relevant office procedures

Possessing basic first aid training (preferred)

Experience with MyEDBC is an asset

Demonstrating the ability to multitask in a team environment

Exhibiting punctuality and effective time management skills to meet deadlines
