Vermilion Elementary school requires a full-time Administrative Assistant to work in our school. The successful applicant for this position will be working 6.25 hours, 5 days a week.

Qualifications High School Diploma

Diploma/Certificate in Office Administrations or Business Administration (Preferred)

Preferred experience in working in Accounting/Finance

Experience working with Google Suite and Microsoft OfficeIn addition to strong communication skills and a commitment to quality public service, t he successful candidate responsibilities may include the following:

Some shared responsibilites in a team of 2 administrative assistants

Maintains accurate records of financial and divisional transactions including handling cash, issuing receipts, all banking, etc. for the school according to the jurisdictional procedures, and assists in the budgeting process

Prepares requitions and purchase order, verifies receipt of goods and submits signed copies to Central Services

Assists in the implementation of school emergency and first aide procedures

Prepares a variety of data and material, including confidential reports, and composes correspondence, memos, and emails

Receives and relays telephone messages, makes appointments for administration and school staff and provides a variety of factual information and assistance to students, parents, teachers, and the public

Prepares, processes, files and maintains the student information system including data input and student registrations

Attends relevant meetings and training established by Central Services

Processes incoming and outgoing mail

Operates a variety of office equipment

Operates the school public address system

Maintains working relationship with school administration, staff, students, parents, and the community

Assists in the organization of school functions and events

Attends staff meetings as requested

Prepares the school office or school opening and closing

Maintains accurate records in accordance with jurisdictional records management policy

Performs other assigned comparable duties, which are within the knowlege and skills required by the job By virtue of the submission of an application, the applicant consents/agrees that the principal or designate can contact previous employers for the purpose of conducting confidential reference checks whether or not the applicant has listed a reference for that employer and contacting references. An original acceptable criminal records check with vulnerable sector check will be a condition of employment.

Start

Tentative start date will be April 24th or mutually agreed upon by both parties.
