The Data Analysis Officer will design, develop and maintain the organizations Business Intelligence solutions. They will use data analytics platforms, reporting tools and visualization techniques to turn raw data into meaningful insights to support decision-making.Responsibilities
Reporting to the Planning and Reporting Coordinator, the Data Analysis Officer will: Develop, implement and optimize SQL queries, Power BI Reports and dashboards.
Create DAX measures and Power Query M scripts to support data analysis.
Apply data management best practices to maintain data integrity and provide solutions to stakeholders.
Review and interpret business reporting requirements.
Document and communicate technical issues, processes, and solutions.
Operate with CD/CI procedures; including high standards in process and code commenting to ensure all solutions developed can be easily maintained by future staff.
Qualifications and Skills Post-secondary education in computer science, information technology, or related field.
4 years of related experience.
Experience using reporting and analytics frameworks, particularly Power BI.
Experience with database and SQL, particularly Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
Experience with SSRS/Power BI Reporting Service, DAX and Power Query.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Power Apps knowledge a plus.
Microsoft Certification in Power BI preferred.
Preferred experience with Laserfiche, Student Information Systems (Follett Aspen) and Jasper Reports.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid technical knowledge of data analysis, statistics and modeling.
Expertise in information visualization techniques and strategies.
Effective trainer of end users with developed solutions.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data management best practices, data audit.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Continuous improvement and customer centric mindset.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
