Part-time (0.6 FTE) Term position

Ridgeview Elementary School

Effective September 3, 2024 until June 30, 2025The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate must demonstrate the following: A clear understanding and demonstrated ability to incorporate the tenants of care, reflection, inquiry, and digital literacy in teaching and learning.

A clear understanding of the components of professional practice including planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities.

In particular, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Current knowledge and recent successful experience in planning and teaching students at the intermediate level

Ability and experience in planning a rigorous curricula that includes student interests and integrates the goals and outcomes of Ministry curricula.

A clear understanding of the characteristics of students at the intermediate level and is able to develop a positive learning environment inclusive of individual intellectual, physical and emotional needs of this age group.

A clear understanding of the range of development of students in the elementary years in reading, writing, mathematics, communication skills, and in problem solving.

Ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners, including ELL and students with special and behavioural needs.

Knowledge and ability to incorporate research best instructional strategies in all curricular areas.

Ability to use formative assessment practices with emphasis on Performance Standards to improve student achievement.

Experience and ability to incorporate inquiry into teaching practices.

Competency to collaborate, teach, and learn through digital resources and environments.

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work cooperatively in a team teaching setting.

Proven ability and commitment to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with students, parents and educators in a dynamic environment.
