Fulltime (1.0 FTE) term position

Effective September 3, 2024 until June 30, 2025The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.Required Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must demonstrate the following qualifications: Training in Orff/Kodaly for Elementary-aged students

Experience teaching Band

Experience and/or coursework in Conducting

Piano skills sufficient to accompany choral groups

Experience accompanying and leading choral groups

Knowledge and willingness to plan and support a comprehensive, progressive Performing Arts program

Teaching experience with Kindergarten, Primary and Intermediate grades

Native-like fluency in spoken and written French

A sound pedagogy in French Immersion education

Understanding, training and experiencewith the IB PYP curriculum preferably with thecompletion of at least one Level 1 workshop

A clear understanding of the characteristics of elementary-aged students and an ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of this age group;

Knowledge and willingness to use Inquiry-based approach to planning and teaching

Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan a Fine Arts program building on the goals and outcomes of the Ministry Instructional Resource packages;

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work co-operatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;

Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents;

Knowledge and experience in working with students with diverse learning needs and support staff with a focus on differentiated instruction in the classroom and demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners through a broad array of teaching strategies and differentiated instruction;

Extensive knowledge and experience in the area of Technology and the ability to integrate technology into the curriculum;

Ability to use formative assessment practices to improve student achievement with emphasis on the Performance Standards

a classroom management style that focuses on structure, mutual respect, natural consequences, consistency and positive reinforcement;

Knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of needs;

Ability to carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum-based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods;

Hold a valid teaching certificate and be a member in good standing with the Teachers Regulation Branch
