Pembina Hills School Division Transportation Department invites applications for a CUPE Lead Mechanic based out of Westlock. The successful candidate must be a self-directed team player. Duties are to commence as soon as possible. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday at 8 hours/day.

The Division

Pembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3800 students in 15 community schools in north central Alberta. PHSD also provides education to over 10,000 students from within and beyond our borders, through our online school, Vista Virtual School.

PHSD currently operates 68 bus routes, transporting approximately 3,000 students daily. There are 4 contract routes and 64 routes operated by division drivers. For more information on our remarkable Division, please visit our website at www.pembinahills.ca

Qualifications: Examine and repair school buses

Preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles

Must hold a Heavy Duty or Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman Certificate plus related experience

The successful candidate should have strong diagnostic skills and understanding of electrical systems

Lift up to 50 pounds

Class 1 or 2 license would be an asset

First Aid Training

Computer Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Flexibility and adaptability to new challenges

Comfortable leading a team as well as managing the wellness of the fleet

Must be comfortable making fiscally responsible decisions

Must be willing to respond to roadside breakdowns

Able to work as a member of the Transportation team

Hourly rate - $43.78 plus an incredible benefits package including: Health, dental & vision - 100% paid premiums
