The South East Cornerstone Public School Division is looking for a permanent full-time Registered Psychologist.

Equivalent to 37.5 hours per week

Reporting to the Coordinator of Student Services, the Registered Psychologist consults and collaborates with teachers, administrators, parents and other personnel or agencies to design, monitor and assist in the delivery of interventions designed for the students development. They provide individual assessment information about a student that will lead to information, strategies, resources, and supports to assist in the students overall development.

Required Education, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience: A Masters Degree in a related discipline of Psychology

A minimum of 3 years experience as a Registered Psychologist or equivalent or a provisional Registered Psychologist (with an Education degree)

Eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists as a full-practicing member with an Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE)

Licensed and maintain membership through the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists

Possess a current and valid Drivers License

Experience in the delivery of human services would be an asset

Proficiency in the operation of computers, word processing applications and additional software comparable to those currently used in the school divisionRequired Skills and Abilities:

Basic organizational skills, recordkeeping skills and clerical proceduresDuties and Responsibilities:

Without restricting the generality of the purpose above, the Registered Psychologist shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following: Participate as an active member of the Student Services team in carrying out the vision and mission of SECPSD

Act as a psychological resource to the education system

Bring a psychological approach to the analysis of a students behavioral and/or learning challenges

Identify and assess the learning and developmental characteristics and needs of students, as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and achievement

Conduct psychoeducational assessments including the administration of standardized assessment tools (measuring cognitive ability, academic functioning, executive functioning skills, and/or socio-emotional and behaviour functioning, etc.), interpretation of testing results, report writing, and debriefing of testing results

Provide classroom and other environmental observations, file review, gathering case history information through interviews and checklists, and reviewing other professional assessments of the student

Provide the data from a psychological assessment to serve as the basis for recommendations concerning intervention strategies for the parents and school team

Carry out the assessment procedures in a timely manner

Consult with parents, administrators, Student Services Diverse Needs Instructional Coaches, learning support teachers, classroom teachers and other professional service providers in the post-assessment conference regarding assessment results and recommendations for interventions to support the teaching process and to maximize learning and adjustment for the student who was assessed

Report assessment findings in a written format which includes the reason for referral, background information, instruments used, interpretation of results, summary and recommendations

When appropriate, recommend the referral of students to other agencies

Liaise with other agencies to promote comprehensive service delivery to students, parents and teachers

Demonstrate knowledge and ability to provide interventions and strategies based on the Response to Intervention and a needs-based model

Provide workshops and in-service areas of expertise to teachers, educational assistants and others when requested

Provide information related to current research on interventions in the area of childrens mental health, assessment, and various exceptionalities

Submit reports to Student Services Coordinator and provide documentation or reports as required

Apply ethical standards of professional practice in the delivery of school psychology services, observing relevant laws and policies that govern practice

Maintain professional competency through on-going professional development practices.

Be knowledgeable and supportive of applicable Division Administrative procedures

Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to a professional learning environment

Deal tactfully with staff, students, parents and the public

Performs additional duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Student Services or the Deputy Director of Education and School OperationsSalary and Benefits:
