Join a strong team of experienced and engaged teachers and staff at Whistler Waldorf School in beautiful Whistler, BC. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Outdoor Ed/Athletics Teacher & Coordinator to teach 1.0 FTE (full-time equivalent) for a term position during 2024 with a possible extending contract for the 2024/2025 school year. This position oversees the administration and implementation of our high school and middle school outdoor educational program as well as the after school/extra curricular athletics programs. In addition, it is responsible for scheduling and often teaching our high school and middle school P.E. program at WWS and in the Whistler community.

WWS offers its faculty professional development, a balanced lifestyle with summer and school holiday breaks, and tuition remission for those applicants who may have children (dependent on contracted hours). Teacher positions start at $50,000-$80,000 depending on experience. Interested candidates should submit your cover letter, resume, teaching certificates and 3 reference letters.

The perfect candidate will be:

Qualified with 2+ years of teaching/administrative experience and be a fully certified BC teacher (or be eligible to apply for a BC license) with a Bachelors degree of Education or equivalent post-secondary graduation, diploma and/or technical certificate, preferably in Human Kinetics/Athletics.

A Canadian citizen and/or eligible to work in Canada with a current Criminal Record Check.

Professional with excellent communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to foster team-based relationships with students, parents, and other Faculty/ Administrative Staff colleagues.

Bonus points:

Wilderness First Aid Certified; Class 4 Drivers License; Leadership Certification; Outdoor Education Experience.

Certified and/or trained in Waldorf Education or may be willing to become Waldorf teacher trained is a plus.
