QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Education or equivalent in Elementary Education with training in Core French, Intensive French, French Immersion or second language acquisition training;
Recent teaching experience in a Core French program at the elementary level;
Experience using Assessment for Learning strategies;
Experience with a trauma sensitive approachDESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:
Knowledge of and ability to help develop and implement Individual Education Plans and Student Learning Plans;
Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills;
Solid planning and organizational skills to create an inclusive framework for learning and development;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work and contribute as a member of a professional learning organization;
Experience incorporating outdoor education/experiential education into the curricular studies an asset;
Knowledge of and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of Yukon First Nations and a culturally diverse student population.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
To be a Teacher in Yukon, you must hold a Teacher Certification in another Canadian province/territory first;
