NOTICE OF NON-UNION VACANCY

POSITION: Part-Time Cook (Two part-time positions)

LOCATION: Catholic Education Centre

HOURS: Monday through Friday 2:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.

SALARY: $20 - $22 per hour based on experience and education

Dutie s: Supports all aspects of optimal food services in compliance with specifications outlined by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and all Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board health and safety procedures

Preparation and production for all meals, ensuring a balance of nutrition and taste inclusive of special diet requests and menu alternatives

Ensure meals and snacks are presented in an appetizing and appealing way while maintaining appropriate food temperature

Menu planning and recipe development, communicate menu changes as required

Engage with students to gather feedback and adapt meal offerings as needed

Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, food storage area, equipment, counter and ensure proper maintenance and safety of all kitchen equipment

Perform kitchen inventory, prepare purchase orders and receive food and supplies as needed

Other duties as assignedQualifications : Culinary training or certification preferred

Proven experience as a cook in a similar setting, preferably within a cafeteria, child care centre or institutional environment

Food handler training and certification

Vulnerable sector check dated within six (6) months

Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach

Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods
