On June 4, 2013, Jobpostings Magazine was awarded top prize at the Kenneth R. Wilson Awards (the Oscars of the Canadian magazine industry) under the How-To article category. The article titled Learning Super Skills, was published in the Jobpostings’ specialty issue, Gradschool Planning Guide.
“This award represents many years of evolution for Jobpostings. It’s not only a true editorial resource for our readers—on par with any Canadian magazine—but the only one to focus on helping recent grads land their first jobs,” says Nathan Laurie, publisher of Jobpostings Magazine. Since 1998, Jobpostings Magazine has been Canada’s largest career lifestyle magazine for post-secondary students, distributed in 126 campuses across Canada.
Winning this award exemplifies how Jobpostings Magazine has flourished in the competitive traditional media industry. This award also shows how far it’s come from a simple booklet of job ads to a true editorial resource for young job seekers looking for advice to help launch their careers.
“The Learning Super Skills article was meant to offer students real world strategies to perform better at school and in their work life. That focus is shared by all our articles, so I’m happy we’re being recognized as true editorial resource for students,” says David Tal, communications and project manager at Jobpostings.ca and author of the winning article.
Jobpostings Magazine offers a range of career advice articles that discusses soft skills, company profiles, interview and résumé tips, industry reports, and more. Alongside the magazine, Jobpostings.ca is Canada’s largest online student job board. A recent relaunch of the site allows students to customize their job search, allowing them to tailor jobs, events, and career articles to support their unique career ambitions.
